Financial assistance
Financial accessibility is a longstanding value at Marianopolis. The College is one of the most generous in the network in terms of financial support for students, providing various awards that offset the cost of tuition each year.
-
Bursaries and scholarships
The College offers a variety of bursaries and scholarships each year that recognize students’ academic achievement and community involvement. Scholarships are awarded based on merit, while bursaries are based on financial need. Some awards for incoming students are renewable into a student’s second year, while others are available especially for returning or graduating students.
How to apply
- The application deadlines are March 1, 2024 for incoming and returning students and May 27, 2024 for graduating students.
- Apply by email, specifying the name of the award(s), and attaching your curriculum vitae, your letter of intent, and two letters of recommendation in English or French.
- Applicants to the Emilia Rosa Scholarship for Applied Arts must also provide a sample of their portfolio.
Incoming students will be notified of the College’s decision before the deadline to confirm their attendance at Marianopolis for the upcoming fall semester. The amount of financial assistance awarded cannot exceed the tuition cost for that year.

Tuition credits and book credits
To offset the cost of tuition and textbooks, the College provides tuition credits and book credits to students who have first received a loan or bursary from the Quebec Government Student Loans and Bursaries Program, Aide financière aux études (AFE).
Make sure you have first received and deposited your loan or bursary from AFE. The College will send you a MIO to confirm the amounts of your tuition credit and your book credit. The amounts awarded to you will be based on the availability of funds, your parents’ income, your program of study, and your particular situation. If you are awarded a tuition credit or book credit in a given semester, you will automatically be considered again in future semesters, as long as you maintain your eligibility for AFE.
If you are not sure whether you are eligible for financial aid from the College or from AFE, or if you have any other questions about financial aid, please contact the Financial Support Technician to discuss your individual situation.

Government loans and bursaries
The Quebec Government Student Loans and Bursaries Program, Aide financière aux études (AFE), gives interest-free loans based on need, not academic performance, for the duration of full-time studies. It also gives gifts of money, called bursaries; to qualify, a student must have already been awarded the maximum loan.
Students should apply as early as the end of May or a minimum of four to six weeks before the start of classes. The AFE’s assistance assessment simulator gives an approximate idea of how much of a loan they can expect. Pre-existing loans can also be re-assessed in the event of a change in personal circumstances.
Students who are not sure whether they are eligible for AFE, or have any other questions about financial aid, should contact the Financial Support Technician to discuss their individual situation.
